Quick fixes

It says “Photos Access Needed”

Daily Exposure builds every puzzle from your photo library, so it needs access to it. Tap Open Settings on that screen, or open the Settings app, scroll to Daily Exposure and choose Photos. On a Mac, go to System Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos and turn on Daily Exposure. Full access gives the best variety of puzzles.

“Couldn’t find a suitable photo older than 30 days”

Puzzles only use photos more than 30 days old that aren’t screenshots or documents. If Favorites only is on in Settings (the gear), try turning it off. With limited Photos access, share more photos with the app.

The photo takes a long time to appear

If today’s photo is stored in iCloud Photos, it has to download first. Check your internet connection and give it a moment.

The “What” answer is wrong

Subjects are recognized on your device, and occasionally it gets one wrong. After the puzzle, choose Answer wrong? Correct it to fix it for that photo — and enjoy the bonus play. See fixing answers.

Saving a title doesn’t work

Titles are written into the photo itself, so Daily Exposure needs permission to change photos in your library. Allow it when asked. Live Photos are deliberately left untouched.

Requirements

  • iPhone with iOS 27 or later.
  • iPad with iPadOS 27 or later.
  • Mac with macOS 27 or later.
  • A photo library with photos more than 30 days old.

Reporting a problem

If something isn’t working, send us a message and include your device model, its iOS, iPadOS or macOS version, the puzzle number, and what you were doing when the problem happened.
