Who we are
The Daily Exposure app

Your photos stay on your device
Each day the app picks one photo from your library for the puzzle. Choosing the photo and recognizing what’s in it — the subject, the number of people — happen entirely on your iPhone, iPad or Mac using Apple’s on-device frameworks. Photos are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
If a photo is stored in iCloud Photos, the app asks the Photos framework to download it, exactly as the Photos app would; that transfer is between your device and Apple.
Permissions the app asks for
- Photos — to choose a photo from your library each day. You can give full access or share only selected photos.
- Add to Photos — only to save a title you type into a photo’s metadata. Photos keeps the original, so the change can always be reverted.
- Location (optional) — to start the Where map at your current location so it’s easier to drop a pin. Your location is never stored or shared.
You can change these permissions at any time in Settings or System Settings.
Maps
The Where question uses Apple Maps. Map tiles and place searches you type are sent to Apple to show the map, under Apple’s privacy policy. We never receive them.
Your game history stays on your device
Your puzzle results, points, streak, answer corrections and the photos you’ve chosen not to see again are stored only on the device you play on. They aren’t synced or sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes them.
Sharing
When you choose Share, the app hands your score to the system share sheet. The share text contains only the puzzle number, colored squares and distances — never the photo, place names or dates — and goes only where you send it.

Analytics
dailyexposure.net uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It records information such as the pages you view, the links and buttons you use, your approximate location (country or city), and your browser and device type. It never records what you type into forms. Google Analytics uses cookies; you can block them in your browser, or opt out with Google’s opt-out add-on. See how Google uses this information.
Contact form
When you send a message through the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the subject, any device details you add, your message, and your IP address. We use them only to reply to you and to keep the form free of abuse, and we never share or sell them. To stop automated spam the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending the message.
Light and dark mode
Your Light, Dark or System appearance choice for this site is saved in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your browser.
